Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.
“The world isn’t a nice place, even for a young one like you” says the old man as he washes Winston’s face with a dirty damp cloth that probably won’t do much for cleaning his face up but is all the old man has to help him.
Winston looks around his surroundings as his head begins to clear from his mugging; his eyes see some strange things, while the little hut like building he’s in isn’t something new to him, he has never seen anything used by the local police, this man has batons and a uniform on his wall, he also has newspaper clippings of local arrests and the state of unrest in the area.
